Last month, we noted that Penthouse Magazine Publisher Bob Guccione, Sr. had lamented, “The future has definitely migrated to electronic media” and that he admitted that there may no longer be a future for magazines such as Penthouse” and that his bankruptcy creditors think that Penthouse is now worth less than zero.
Yesterday, in a story entitled Porn Mag Sales Going Limp, Wired.com noted that Screw magazines last month also has filed for bankruptcy and its publisher, Al Goldstein, also blames the Internet:
- “We are an anachronism; we are dinosaurs; we are elephants going to the bone cemetery to die…. The delivery system has changed, and we have to change with it if we want to survive.”
At least these print publishers never spammed.
